With the upcoming firmware updates for DICE MediaBridge and Silverline DUO will support the iOS 5 platform in an exciting new way! Many of the iOS 5 optimized apps send text to your radio’s display such as song information. Some apps can also be controlled directly from your radio. For example the Pandora Internet Radio app allows users to skip a track using the radio’s next track button. The Livio Car Internet Radio app allows users to access preset internet radio stations by pressing the disc 1-6 buttons on the car’s radio. Both of these apps display song information on the car radio’s display!

To take advantage of these features, please update your DICE module to the latest compatible firmware.

New Silverline DUO integration kits have embedded command and control for full playback of Livio Car Internet Radio with selected factory radio systems.

May 11, 2011 - Signal Hill, CA — DICE Electronics today announced the arrival of the 2011 Silverline DUO Integration Kits with Livio Car Internet Radio. iPhone users now have full control over the 45,000 plus Internet radio stations through the Livio Radio Car Internet app and a compatible car factory radio, with no monthly fees.

The DICE Silverline DUO is a simple plug and play automotive interface capable of giving users access to their iPhone/iPod, SIRUS Satellite Radio and now the Livio Car Internet Radio application. The connected iPhone application is controlled through car stereo’s built-in controls on touch screen radios, steering wheel or the center consol.

“Working with Livio Radio allows us to offer users more music options with our automotive integration technology and we’re proud to be the first to market with OEM add on and upgrade kits for car Internet radio,” said Stephen Witt, Executive Vice President at DICE Electronics.

“I quit listening to CDs when I purchased my satellite radio back in 2003, I cancelled my satellite radio subscription when I installed the DICE Duo plus Livio into my car,” Livio Radio founder and CEO Jake Sigal said. “I’m excited we can finally share our engineering development with the rest of the world.”

The DICE DUO featuring Livio Car Internet Radio requires the use of an iPhone running iOS 4.2 or higher and the Livio app Version 2.2.0. The award-winning Livio Car Internet Radio in-vehicle experience offers subscription-free Internet radio with a display of the station, current song information, stored presets and no monthly fees. Users must have an active wireless data connection in order to stream music from the Car Internet Radio app.

The basic Livio Car Internet Radio app is available now for free on the iTunes® Store and allows users to listen to hundreds of internet-based radio programming streamed through iPhone. The upgraded Livio Car Internet Radio application for a one-time fee of $4.99 allows access to more than 45,000 AM/ FM and Internet-only radio streams from around the world.

The Silverline DUO product has Apple authentication IC’s onboard that ensures full iOS compatibility and firmware upgradable. DUO charges iPod/iPhone and has an optional wireless remote control. Siverline DUO Integration with Livio kits for selected Toyota, Lexus, Scion, Honda, Acura, BMW, Mini, Nissan and Infiniti vehicles are available now at $189.99 MSRP. VW, Audi and Mazda are coming soon.

At January’s International CES, Dice and Livio will launch a Livio Car Internet Radio app and an optional user-installable firmware upgrade for new Duo and MediaBridge vehicle-specific integration kits. When the upgraded kits are added to select factory radios, users will be able to select, display and play thousands of Internet radio stations through an iPhone connected to the kits via USB cable.

Upgraded MediaBridge kits will be available for Acura, Honda, Toyota, Lexus, Scion, BMW, Mini, Nissan, VW and Audi vehicles. The Duo will be designed for BMW, Mini, Toyota, Scion, Lexus, Honda, Acura, Nissan, Infiniti, Mazda, and VW.

The Duo and MediaBridge kits will be rolled out beginning early January, with kits for all of the above vehicles available in the first quarter.

The Silverline Duo integration kits enable factory-head control of both an iPod/iPhone and a Sirius satellite tuner. In the top-end Media Bridge kits, Dice adds USB control of other-brand MP3 players, playback of music files stored on USB drives in various formats, and included stereo Bluetooth with hands-free capability. It also captures the PCM audio output of an iPod/iPhone, whereas the new Duo captures analog audio.

The downloadable Dice firmware and the Livio Car Internet Radio app will be available in the first quarter at a price to be announced. The Duo and MediaBridge are user-updatable via USB.

The Duo kits will retail for a suggested $189 and begin shipping in January. Upgradable versions of the company’s currently available MediaBridge kits will retail for a suggested $299 and ship in the first quarter.

Both the Media Bridge and Duo kits feature built-in translator to convert the Sirius protocol to the protocol used by OEM entertainment systems.
