DICE Electronics receives Vision Free Award at the 2009 CES

Las Vegas, Nevada – DICE Electronics, LLC. a leader in HD Radio and iPod integration is proud to announce that it has received the Wonder Vision Award for developing the world’s first accessible HD radio (iTR-100A). The award was presented by Stevie Wonder and Michael May at the 2009 Consumer Electronics Show.

The accessible radio prototype is based on the already popular DICE iTR-100 tabletop HD Radio, with special enhancements in consideration for the visually impaired.

The engineers at DICE Electronics spent many months perfecting the iTR-100A and creating a user friendly interface. Voice prompts and audible feedback have been added to simplify the operation. The result of our cooperative development is a receiver that meets many of the guidelines set by the IAAIS StAR.

“There are over one million blind people in the USA, and many of them are tech savvy, and want access to the latest technology,” said DICE CEO Laszlo Barabas. “Unfortunately, there aren’t many manufacturers who consider developing products for them. We, at DICE, are proud to be among the distinguished few.”

The advanced technology encompassed within supports the upcoming HD Radio based digital Radio Reading Service.

Radio Reading Services provided by many NPR stations offer spoken text from hundreds of daily print publications, including various magazines and newspapers for the visually impaired. Analog technology used today offers less than desirable audio quality and requires a dedicated receiver.
With the DICE iTR-100A, listeners will enjoy not only the superior audio quality of the HD Radio based Reading Service, but will have access to available HD-2 and HD-3 content broadcasted by the local radio station.

DICE introduces USB power charging for new generation iPod models

Lake Tahoe, Nevada, November 1st 2008 – DICE Electronics, LLC. is proud to be among the first companies to introduce USB charging (5 Volt) for new generation iPod models with its Silverline hard-wired vehicle integration kits. The feature-packed kit is compatible with all Apple products featuring the universal dock connector; and is available for a suggested retail price of $169.99

Expect full charging, no matter which generation iPod you own! The DICE kit features 5 Volt charging, keeping the iPod classic (120 GB), iPod touch (2nd generation), and iPod nano (4th generation) models always ready to go.

“Most other integration products available on the market today will not charge these new iPod models and customers may end up with a drained battery and without music on a longer road trip” - said Alfred Barabas, COO of DICE Electronics.

Old or new gen., DICE supports them all! The upgraded interface does not only support the new iPod models, it is also compatible with the previous generation iPod models all the way back to the 4th generation.

DICE as always, immediately reacts to the development of the integration market for the iPod! By adapting to Apple’s newest charging standards, the DICE vehicle integration kit is now available for all iPod users.

Just connect the proper interface to the entertainment bus system of the vehicle and create a seamless interconnection with the iPod! Users can use the buttons on the radio to navigate between Playlists, Artists, Albums or Songs.

While the DICE interface was designed to provide the ultimate experience for iPod vehicle integration, it also features an auxiliary jack making an external satellite radio or DVD player connection very easy.

A universal car integration for iPod first from DICE Electronics

Lake Tahoe, Nevada, July 1st 2008 – DICE Electronics, LLC. is proud to announce the release of the ultimate universal car integration kit for iPod. DICE is the first to introduce a universal integration solution using FM RDS technology that features both wireless and wired connectivity. The DICE FM-RDS for iPod is now available!

Expect better FM quality than ever! Featuring a fully digital FM transmitter, the DICE FM-RDS for iPod delivers deeper base and sharper highs. This is not the average FM transmitter!

With RDS, song and artist name shows right on the screen of compatible radio! Certain vehicles may even show this RDS text on the instrument cluster!

This universal kit from DICE Electronics is the ultimate iPod integration solution for any vehicle that is poorly or not at all supported by a car specific integration solution.

The interface is ready to run right out of the box! The plug & play kit includes a “self-install” cable that connects to the standard 12V DC outlet of any car! This enables users to listen to their iPod right away!

For those craving for the ultimate, static and interference free experience the hardwired “pro-install” cable satisfies their hunger!

The “pro-install” cable connects directly to the antenna port of the radio. When the iPod is connected you experience crystal clear audio from it, when it is disconnected you can listen to FM radio stations. This professional installation may require radio specific antenna adapters.

European customers cheer!
“Pro-install” connectivity is the best solution for markets not allowing wireless FM transmitters.

Now with text display on SAT compatible Volkswagen vehicles

Lake Tahoe, Nevada, May 2008 – DICE Electronics, LLC. has announced the release of its Silverline series interfaces for iPod now supporting selected Volkswagen models. The integration line features text display on late model Satellite compatible vehicles and a fast browsing function to ease navigation and to improve user experience. The kit is now available for MSRP: $159.99!

The DICE integration kits are designed to create a seamless interconnection between the iPod and the entertainment controls of the vehicle. The kits connect through the Volkswagen CAN bus, utilizing the satellite port of the factory radio and charge your iPod on the go. With the introduction of the Silverline integration, DICE continues to advance the features of their integration solutions.

Browsing on the iPod is intuitive and easy, because it was designed for content navigation. Based on many years of experience in engineering integration products, DICE developed a new interface that makes selecting between 1000s of songs easy and efficient. To ease content navigation the Silverline series now includes a hierarchical filtering. Contents can be narrowed by selecting a Playlist, and then further narrowed by selecting an Artist. If desired further content filtering can be achieved by selecting an Album. Of course, having Playlists is not a requirement, and users are free to explore music in their own preferred way. Best of all, while browsing for new content, playback of the current selection is not interrupted until an actual selection is made.

Steering wheel controls will work well with the iPod interface kit, allowing the driver to change tracks and in some cases Rewind and Fast Forward. Having not only the ultimate experience for iPod vehicle integration, it also features an auxiliary input jack making a portable satellite radio or DVD player connection simple. The new interface supports all the latest iPod models including the new Classic, nano and the iPod touch.

“Our U.S. based engineering, design and customer service allows DICE to interact with its customers and consider their ideas and needs in future products. As a result we created the Silverline integration kits” - said Laszlo Barabas, CEO of DICE Electronics, LLC.
